DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
Some of Civilized Cycles' products, services and features require the sharing of data with other users or at the user's request. We may also share data with our affiliates, subsidiaries and partners for legal reasons or in connection with complaints or conflicts.
SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION
When you use Civilized Cycles, you entrust us with some of your personal data. And we are committed to maintaining that trust. We want to help you understand our privacy practices.
This notice describes the personal data we collect, how it is used and shared, and your choices regarding that data.
SECTION 2 - OVERVIEW
This notice applies to users of Civilized Cycles' services worldwide, including users of Civilized Cycles' apps, websites, resources or other services.
This notice describes how Civilized Cycles and its affiliates collect and use personal data. This notice applies to all users of Civilized Cycles' apps, websites, resources or other services worldwide, except those covered by a private privacy notice.
Our data handling practices are subject to applicable laws where we operate. This means that the practices described in this notice only apply in a specific country or region if local laws allow it. SECTION 3 - DATA COLLECTION AND USEA. The data we collect
The Civilized Cycles collects:
Data reported to Civilized Cycles by users, for example during account creation
Data created while using our services, such as location, app and device usage
Data from other sources such as Civilized Cycles partners and third parties using Civilized Cycles APIs
The following data is collected by or on behalf of Civilized Cycles:
1. Data reported by users. That includes:
User Profile: We collect data when users create or change their Civilized Cycles accounts. This may include name, email, phone number, login and password, address, profile picture, payment information or bank details, official identity documents, date of birth, signature and Photograph. This data also includes vehicle or insurance information for partner drivers and delivery partners and user settings. We may use the photos submitted by partner drivers and/or delivery partners to confirm their identities, for example through facial recognition technologies. For more information, see the section entitled “How we use your personal data”.
Demographic Data: We may collect demographic data about users, including through user surveys. In some countries, we also receive demographic data about users from third parties.
User Content: We collect information that users submit when they contact Civilized Cycles' customer support, provide ratings or praise to other users or partner restaurants, or otherwise contact Civilized Cycles. This may include comments, photos or other records collected by users.
2. Data created while using our services. That includes:
Location data: When activated by the user, the feature allows us to collect accurate or approximate location data from the device, Civilized Cycles collects this data when the Civilized Cycles app is running in the foreground (app open and on screen) or in the background (app open but not on screen) on their device.
Transaction Information: We collect transaction information relating to the use of our services, including the type of service requested or provided, delivery information, the date and time the service was provided, the amount billed and the method of payment. Also, if someone uses your promotional code, we may associate your name with that person.
Usage data: We collect data about users' interaction with our services. This includes access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app issues and other system activity, browser type and third-party websites or services used prior to interacting with our services. In some cases, we may do this collection through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies that create and maintain unique identifiers. Device Data: We may collect information about devices used to access our services, including hardware models, device IP address, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, device unique identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, data device movement and mobile network data.
3. Data from other sources. That includes:
User feedback such as ratings, comments or praise.
Users who participate in our referral programs. For example, when a user refers someone, we receive personal data from the indicated person.
Civilized Cycles account holders who request services for or on behalf of other users, or who allow users to request or receive services through their accounts. This includes Civilized Cycles for Business account owners.
Users or others who provide data relating to complaints or disputes.
Civilized Cycles' business partners through which users create or access their Civilized Cycles account, such as payment providers, social networking services, or apps or websites that use Civilized Cycles' APIs or whose APIs Civilized Cycles uses.
Providers who help us confirm users' identity, background information, and partnership eligibility for regulatory and security purposes.
Publicly available fonts.
Marketing service providers.
Civilized Cycles may combine data collected from these sources with others in its possession.
B. How we use personal data
Civilized Cycles collects and uses data to enable transportation, deliveries and other products and services reliably and conveniently. We also use the data we collect:
To improve the security of our users and services
For customer support
For research and development
To allow communication between users, with user’s consent.
To send communications, including marketing, to users
To use them in legal proceedings
Civilized Cycles does not sell or share the user's personal data with third parties for direct marketing, except with the user's consent.
Civilized Cycles uses the data it collects for the following purposes, among others:
1. Provide services and resources. Civilized Cycles uses the data it collects to offer, customize, maintain and improve our products and services.
This includes using the data to:
Create and change user accounts.
Offer, process or facilitate payments for our services.
Offer, obtain, provide or facilitate insurance, vehicle, billing or financial solutions related to our services.
2. Security
This includes using the data to:
Process of registering partner users before allowing the use of services and at subsequent intervals, including background check analysis when permitted by law.
Use of device, location, profile, usage and other data to prevent, detect and combat fraud or activities that pose a security risk.
3. Customer support
Civilized Cycles uses the information it collects (including recordings of customer support calls, with user notice and consent) to provide customer support, including:
Forward questions to the appropriate support professional
Investigate and seek solutions to user concerns
Monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes
4. Research and development
We may use the data we collect for testing, research, analysis, product development and machine learning to improve the user experience. This allows us to improve and enhance the security of our services, increase our ability to prevent the use of our services for illegal or inappropriate purposes, develop new features and products, and facilitate financial and insurance solutions associated with our services.
5. Marketing
Civilized Cycles may use the data it collects to disclose our services to our users. This includes sending communications to users about Civilized Cycles services, features, promotions, sweepstakes, studies, surveys, news, notifications and events.
We may use the data we collect to customize the marketing communications (including advertisements) that we send, including based on the user's location, past use of Civilized Cycles' services and the user's preferences and settings.
6. Communications without marketing purposes
Civilized Cycles may use the data it collects to generate and send receipts to users, inform them of changes to our terms, services or policies or send other communications without the purpose of disclosing the services or products of Civilized Cycles or its partners.
7. Legal procedures and requirements
We may use the personal data we collect to investigate or address complaints or disputes relating to the use of Civilized Cycles services, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, or as requested by regulators, government entities and official inquiries.
C. Cookies and Third Party Technologies
Civilized Cycles and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies in their apps, websites, emails and online advertisements for the purposes described in this notice.
Cookies are small text files stored on browsers or devices by websites, apps, online media and advertisements. Civilized Cycles uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:
authenticate users
Remember user preferences and settings
Determining the popularity of content
Publicize and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
Analyze trends and traffic and gain a general understanding of online behaviors and the interests of people who interact with our services
We may also allow others to provide audience measurement and analysis services for us, to show Internet advertisements on our behalf, and to monitor and report on the performance of those advertisements. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs and other technologies to identify the devices on which visitors use our websites and other online services and websites.
Civilized Cycles may share the data it collects:
1. With the general public
Questions or comments submitted by users in public forums, such as Civilized Cycles' blogs and social networking pages, are publicly available, including personal data that appears in those questions or comments.
2. With Civilized Cycles' service providers and business partners
Civilized Cycles provides data to suppliers, consultants, marketing partners, research companies and other service providers or business partners. They include:
Payment Processors and Facilitators
Background check and identity confirmation providers (partner drivers and delivery partners only)
Cloud Storage Providers
Marketing partners and platform providers, including social media advertising services
Data Analysis Providers
Research partners, including those responsible for research or projects in partnership with or on behalf of Civilized Cycles
Vendors that help Civilized Cycles improve the security of its apps
Consultants, lawyers, accountants and other professional service providers
Vehicle partners
Insurance and Financing Partners
3. For legal reasons or in case of disputes
Civilized Cycles may share users' personal data if it believes it is required by applicable law, regulations, operating license or contract, legal process or governmental request, or in cases where disclosure is appropriate, for other reasons, due to concerns about the security or similar. This includes sharing personal data with law enforcement/legal authorities, public health officials and other government authorities, airports (if required by airport authorities as a condition of operating on airport premises), or other third parties as necessary to apply our Terms and Conditions, user agreements or other policies; to protect Civilized Cycles;s rights or property or the rights, safety or property of others; or in the event of a complaint or conflict regarding the use of our services. If you use someone else's credit card, we may be required by law to share your personal data with the owner, including travel or order information.
This also includes sharing personal data with associated third parties, or during negotiations for any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing or acquisition of all or part of our business by another company.
4. With consent
Civilized Cycles may share a user's personal data in ways other than those described in this notice, if we notify the user and he consents to the sharing.
E. Data Retention and Deletion
Civilized Cycles retains user profile data, transactions and other personal data as long as the user maintains their Civilized Cycles account.
Civilized Cycles may retain some user data after receiving account deletion request if necessary, such as to comply with legal requirements.
Civilized Cycles will retain the user's profile, transactions and other personal information as long as the user maintains their Civilized Cycles account.
Users can request deletion of their account at any time via the Settings and Privacy menus in the Civilized Cycles app or through the Civilized Cycles Help Center. Upon such request, Civilized Cycles will delete the data that it is not obligated to store for the purposes of regulations, taxes, insurance, legal disputes or other legal requirements. For example, Civilized Cycles will retain location, device and usage data for these purposes for at least 7 years. During this period, it may also use them for security, fraud prevention and detection, research and development purposes. In some circumstances, Civilized Cycles may not be able to delete a user account, for example, if there are outstanding amounts on the account or if there is a complaint or conflict that has not yet been resolved. Once this issue is resolved,
Civilized Cycles may also retain certain information if necessary for security and fraud prevention purposes. For example, if Civilized Cycles deactivates a user's account because of unsafe behavior or security-related incidents, it may retain certain information about that account to prevent that user from opening a new Civilized Cycles account in the future.
F. Basis for processing
We collect and use personal data only when we have a legal basis for it. This includes processing personal data in order to provide the services and offer the requested resources, for the purposes of the legitimate interests of Civilized Cycles or third parties, to fulfill legal obligations or on the basis of consent.
We collect and use personal data only when we have one or more legal grounds for doing so. These bases depend on the users' location, but generally include processing personal data:
A. To provide the services and offer the requested features.
In order to provide our services, we need to collect and use certain personal data. That includes:
User profile data used to establish and maintain user accounts; confirm the user's identity; communicate with users about their travel, orders and accounts; and allow users to make payments or receive earnings
Background information, used to confirm eligibility to be a partner driver or delivery partner
Partner driver and delivery partner location data used to track trips and help with navigation
Usage data, necessary to maintain, optimize and improve Civilized Cycles' services, including to determine promotions, connect drivers and passengers and calculate travel costs and earnings of partner drivers
Transaction information
Information related to customer support
B. For the purposes of the legitimate interests of Civilized Cycles and other parties
This includes using personal data to maintain and improve the security of our users. For example, we use personal data to prevent the use of our services by users who have engaged in inappropriate or dangerous behavior, such as storing banned user data to prevent them from using Civilized Cycles' apps.
This also includes purposes such as combating fraud; improving our services, direct marketing, research and development; and application of Sailing Terms and Conditions.
In addition, this includes using personal data to the extent necessary for the interests of others or the general public, such as when relating to lawsuits or loss reporting and to protect the rights and safety of others.
C. To fulfill Civilized Cycles' legal obligations
For example, Civilized Cycles is subject to laws and regulations in several countries and cities that require it to collect and store data about our users' travels and provide copies of such data to the government and other authorities. We collect and use personal data to comply with such laws.
Civilized Cycles may also share data with law enforcement/legal authorities regarding criminal acts or threats to public safety or requests from third parties pursuant to legal proceedings.
D. With consent
Civilized Cycles may collect and use personal data based on the user's consent. For example, we collect personal data through voluntary surveys. Responses to these surveys are collected with your consent and will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected.
A user who has consented to the collection and use of their personal data may withdraw their consent at any time. However, the user will not be able to use any service or feature that requires the collection or use of such personal data.
SECTION 4 - OPTIONS AND TRANSPARENCY
Civilized Cycles allows users to access and control the data that Civilized Cycles collects, including through:

Rating pages in the app
Not receiving marketing communications
Civilized Cycles also allows users to request access to their data or copies thereof, changes or updates to their accounts, deletion of their accounts or for Civilized Cycles to restrict its processing of user personal data.
A. Privacy Settings
The Sail app's settings menus for passengers give passengers the ability to configure or change location sharing preferences and preferences for receiving notifications from Civilized Cycles on the device. Information about these settings, the procedure for configuring or changing these settings, and the effect of disabling them are described below.
Location data
Civilized Cycles uses the location services of the user's device to make it easier to request a trip when he needs it. Location data helps us improve services such as departures, navigation and customer support.
Emergency data sharing (user)
Users who allow Civilized Cycles to collect location data from their device can also activate the “Emergency Data Sharing” feature, which shares data with police, fire and ambulance emergency services. This data includes the approximate location at the time the emergency call was placed;
Notices: account and travel updates
Civilized Cycles sends users notices of travel status and updates related to activity on their account. These notifications are required to use the Civilized Cycles app and cannot be disabled.
Notices: discounts and news
Users can allow Civilized Cycles to send push notifications about Civilized Cycles discounts and news.
B. Device Permissions
Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined that certain types of device data cannot be accessed by apps without the owner's permission. These platforms use different ways to obtain these permissions. iOS devices notify users the first time Civilized Cycles' app requests permission to access certain types of data and give users the option to grant or refuse permission. Android devices notify users of the permissions the Civilized Cycles app asks for before you use it for the first time. By using the app, you grant such permission.
C. Not receiving marketing communications
Users can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from Civilized Cycles. Users may also follow the unsubscribe instructions contained in these messages to opt-out of receiving emails and other messages from Civilized Cycles. We may also send other types of messages, such as travel receipts or account information, to users who choose to opt-out of promotional communications.
D. User Data Requests
Civilized Cycles offers several ways for users to know and control their data and send questions and comments about their treatment by Civilized Cycles. To make a request.
Data Access: Users may ask for an explanation of the data we collect and how it is used.
Receipt of data: Users may request a copy of the data that Civilized Cycles collects from them with their consent or as necessary to provide our services.
Changing or updating data: Users can edit the name, phone number, email address, payment method and photo associated with their account by accessing the “My Profile” menu of Civilized Cycles' apps. They may also ask Civilized Cycles to change or update their data, even in cases where they believe it is wrong or incomplete;
Data deletion: users can request the deletion of their account whenever they want, by sending an email to info@Civilized Cyclesbikes.com with their request.
SECTION 5 - CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may occasionally change this notice. Using our services after a change constitutes consent to the amended notice, to the extent permitted by law.
If we make significant changes, we will notify users of them in advance through Civilized Cycles apps or other means such as email. We encourage users to periodically review this notice for the latest information about our privacy practices.
